Dr. Naseer Awan likely to be fielded from Karnah

Srinagar, Aug 11 (KNO): In a boost to Peoples Conference, Dr. Naseer Ahmad Awan, a prominent medico of Kashmir Valley, joined the party on Sunday here. As per news agency— Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr. Naseer, who has served as professor and surgeon in the Government Medical College Srinagar, joined the party today in presence of PC president Sajad Gani Lone, general secretary Imran Reza and senior leader Kaneez Fatima. Naseer, who is likely to be PC’s candidate from Karnah assembly segment, is expected to boost the party’s prospects on the seat, which was once represented by its founder Abdul Gani Lone. “He has a lot of goodwill in the entire Karnah area given his exemplary services as professor and surgeon in the Government Medical College Srinagar,” a senior PC leader said.’ He said the party is looking to field new faces in majority of the assembly segments of Kupwara districts. “In the Lok Sabha polls, our performance was quite better than NC in Kupwara district. We were ahead of NC in four out of six assembly seats of the district,” he said. On Saturday, Dr. Mudasir Akbar Shah, who was working as a senior lecturer at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dehran, Saudi Arabia, joined the party.
